Verstille family correspondence, 1754-1854.

Business correspondence to merchant Peter Verstille of Wethersfield and Hartford, Connecticut, and personal and family correspondence of Charlotte, Anne and Nancy Verstille, both incoming and outgoing. Among Nancy's letters is one from Sophia Tudor in which she discussed her financial circumstances, and the fact that she sewed 14 hours a day. Peter Verstille's correspondence consists primarily of letters from Stephen Means and Thomas Bromfield and also include two financial accounts. Brother Tristram Verstille wrote several letters to his sisters Charlotte and Ann.
